Our goal is to lift up those who are struggling—some still looking for jobs, some trying to mend broken relationships, some looking for physical healing for themselves or those they love, some looking for hope, some just trying to get through the day and get out of this funk! At times, what we are praying for looks so far away, truly impossible—not a chance of coming about!
So, when God told Abraham that he would give him a son who would have many descendants, and become a great nation, Abraham believed God even though such a promise just couldn’t come to pass! And because his faith was strong, he didn’t worry about the fact that he was too old to be a father, at the age of one hundred, and that Sarah his wife, at ninety, was also much too old to have a baby. But Abraham never doubted. He believed God, for his faith and trust grew ever stronger, and he praised God for this blessing even before it happened.
Romans 4:18-20
Abraham and Sarah were old—they were in the nursing center for sure. Having a child at that age couldn’t come to pass. They knew it, but Abraham never doubted! What faith he had. The Lord has provided us many promises:
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
No matter your situation today, what if you had Abraham’s faith? What if you did not doubt? How would your day be then?
So, take a knee, bow your head, and place your hands together.
Lord, we need You today. Grant us the faith of Abraham. Take these worries away, and allow us not to doubt. Put on our hearts the promise You have given to each of us, and help us to be totally committed to You.
Have a Faithful Day.
