How are you feeling? In two weeks, it will be Christmas Eve. Stress starting to build? Diana and I went over our “to do” list this morning, and it is already overwhelming—all these things, on top of what we already have going on. One more brick to add to the pile of bricks that we are carrying around—ouch!
I need to remember that He’s got me! When the anxiety rushes in, when the doubts have their way with me, when I struggle with my thoughts—that is when I search for Jesus—please save me! Where is He when I need Him?
And may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for ourselves, through it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.
Ephesians 3:18-19
Do you remember the ending of the movie, The Wizard of OZ? The Good Witch tells Dorothy that she had the power to go home the whole time she was searching—that power was inside her—all she had to do was say, “I want to go home.” We have the power to move from doubt to freedom, to move from anxiety to peace, to move from fear to love. All we have to say is, “Jesus, save me.” He is right there already.
So today, Lord, we acknowledge Your mighty presence within us and all around us—God above me, God below me, God behind me, God in front of me, God to my left, God to my right, God in every eye that sees me, God in every ear that hears me, God within me. Amen.
