When someone makes a promise to you, do you believe them? It probably depends on who is giving the promise. What if the promise is from God? You know He will deliver on His promise!
That day a man named Simeon, a Jerusalem resident, was in the Temple. He was a good man, very devout, filled with the Holy Spirit and constantly expecting the Messiah to come soon. For the Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen him—God’s anointed King. The Holy Spirit had impelled him to go the Temple that day; and so, when Mary and Joseph arrived to present the baby Jesus to the Lord in obedience to the law, Simeon was there and took the child in his arms, praising God. “Lord,” he said, “now I can die content! For I have seen him as you promised me I would. I have seen the savior you have promised the world.”
Luke 2:25:28
While Simeon received a specific promise, there are many promises found in the Word that we can count on. The Lord will not put in our lives what we cannot handle; He will never forsake us; if we are lost, He will seek us; and so many more. So, what promise has the Holy Spirit placed on your heart? Share that promise given to you with someone!
Today, Lord, thanks for putting Your promises on our hearts; thanks for providing so much hope to us at times when we think we can’t overcome; thanks for being there for us, all of us, all of the time. We pray, Father, that You keep a close watch over our families and friends and help keep them safe. Help keep all of us in Your Word.
Have a Promise-Filled Day.
