Did you hear that? That noise you just heard was the gun going off to start the race. The other runners are off and moving, and you are still at the starting line—wondering what that noise was, wondering if that little voice in your head was really from God, wondering if you should take that risk on something or someone. GO! Get moving! We are all counting on you.
What if Walt Disney, after being denied a bank loan 301 times, decided to give up on the dream placed in his heart? Most people achieve their greatest success one step beyond what looked like their greatest failure. I don’t know what your past year has been like, but it is over, done, kaput! Now, we have a new day, a new race to begin, and we must press on. We must dedicate ourselves to that purpose placed on our hearts and begin to run our race with a relentless effort and without trepidation. Bring home the Gold!
No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to the what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.
Philippians 3:13–14
Today, Lord, we pray that You give us the strength to press on in this race we are running. Let us recognize the extreme importance of the role each of us has in this life, that others are counting on us, and that You have a prize waiting for us. Grant us the passion for Your purpose.
Have a Purposeful Day.
