Jesus now returned to the Sea of Galilee, and climbed a hill and sat there. And a vast crowd brought him their lame, blind, maimed and those who couldn’t speak and many others, and laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all. What a spectacle it was! Those who hadn’t been able to say a word before were talking excitedly and those with missing arms and legs had new ones, the crippled were walking and jumping around, and those who had been blind were gazing about them! The crowds just marveled, and praised the God of Israel.
Matthew 15:29–31
Wow—multitudes healed by Jesus! Try to picture the scene: Jesus is on the mountainside and throngs of people—the blind, the crippled, the sick coming to Jesus to be healed. What a motley crew this was! But how did they get there? They were helped by family and friends, and probably strangers as well. Imagine the excitement in the crowd as those ahead were being healed. The boy who was crippled going up came down running!
How would you be feeling if you were in line, and Jesus was ahead of you. It’s not quite your turn—but you’re getting closer! You have something you need healed, or you are helping a loved one who has a need get to the Healer. Nothing would stop you, would it?
Same with us today. We either need something healed or we are trying to help someone who needs healing. Could be an ailment, could be a job, could be finances, could be a relationship—but it will take a miracle. You know what? Jesus is right ahead of us. In fact, we’re next in line. We get there, and we fall to our knees in anticipation; there is fear and reverence. We can’t even look at Him, we are so afraid—and then we feel it—His peace, His healing power moving through us!
So today, let us give Him glory, for He has already given us His Promise. He has saved us! Everything else is extra! Lord, help us surrender our burdens to You. We know if we put on Your yoke, which fits perfectly, You will give us peace. You will give us rest. You will heal us in the way that is best for us. We also pray for those who have helped us get to You, Lord Jesus—watch over them and keep them safe.
Have a healing day.
