Diana and I were watching Jeopardy recently—those folks are so smart. The game is set up that you pick a category, the difficulty level, and the answer is given. All you have to do is come up with the question. Simple enough! So, let’s try it. You pick the category—Life—for $80. Here comes the answer:
“But the time is coming—in fact, it is here—when you will be scattered, each one returning to his own home, leaving me alone. Yet I will not be alone, for the Father is with me. I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.”
John 16:32–33
So, what is the question?
“How do we have the courage to face the day when we are overwhelmed and can’t see a way out and feel so distant from the Lord?” Ding-ding-ding! Correct. Alex Trebek asks, “Next category?”
You get it. I finally get it! In this journey we have been on, the one thing we have learned is that we have already been given the answers. They are in the Bible; all we have to do is come up with the questions.
Today, Lord, we thank You for providing the answers before we even have the questions. We pray that we find our way to Your Word and discover the answers to the questions that come up every day. Grant us the courage not to be afraid to open the cover and chose the tough categories—who knows, we may even hit Double Jeopardy. That will really cheer us up!
So, based on the scripture given above, what would your question be? I would love to hear from you and get other ideas!
Have a Victorious Day.
