A friend sent me the following message that I am sharing today about worry and anxiety. When we are in a worried or anxious state, we feel it throughout our entire body. For me, it makes my stomach churn and my knees weak, and my mind is agitated. But if we can transition to a state of peace—oh, what a feeling! It is total relaxation; we feel right with the world. We want that peace, but we fail to recognize how to get back to that point when our world goes upside down.
Then turning to his disciples he said, “Don’t worry about whether you have enough food to eat or clothes to wear. For life consists of far more than food and clothes. Look at the ravens—they don’t plant or harvest or have barns to store away their food, and yet they get along all right—for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to Him than any birds! And besides, what’s the use of worrying? What good does it do? Will it add a single day to your life? Of course not! And if worry can’t even do such little things as that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?
Luke 12:22–26
Anxiety is a result of envisioning the future without Me. So the best defense against worry is staying in communication with Me. When you turn your thoughts toward Me, you can think much more positively. Remember to listen, as well as to speak, making your thoughts a dialogue with Me.
If you must consider upcoming events, follow these rules: 1—Do not linger in the future, because anxieties sprout up like mushrooms when you wander there. 2—Remember the promise of My continual Presence; include Me in any imagery that comes to mind. This mental discipline does not come easily, because you are accustomed to being god of your fantasies. However, the reality of My Presence with you, now and forevermore, outshines any fantasy you could ever imagine.

So today we pray, Lord, help us remember that You are with us always, and should our minds wander to points of trouble and confusion and worry today, that we are strong enough to place You back into our mind and keep our thoughts on Your Glory and Power—all else does not matter. Jesus, save me!
Have a great day by including Christ in your mind.
