Times are hectic; they always are this time of year. We have so much to do. One week to Christmas. We have to finish our shopping; we have to finish our travel plans; we have to finish —whatever! On top of the list of “to do’s” we add worry—we worry about how to pay for all this; we worry about what the doctor’s report may say; we worry about those we love. But I have a tendency to forget to put my focus where it belongs—we all do.
In that day the wolf and the lamb will lie down together, and the leopard and goats will be at peace. Calves and fat cattle will be safe among lions, and a little child shall lead them all.
Isaiah 11:6
Think of a world where we lie down with wild animals and they approach us only to be petted, to be loved and not to attack—what a world! It is part of the plan! Let’s try this week (especially this week) to start our day with the right focus. The Lord will deliver us from all evil, His plans are for our good, He will listen to our prayers. Allow yourself to be led by a little child! Do this first, before you think of your “to do” list, before the worries begin to seep in—you may find that your day is a little easier, a little more at peace.
Today, we give You thanks, O Lord—for Your great plan to provide us salvation; Your plan to provide a little child to guide us, to lead us. You provided us Your Son! We pray to You to help us keep our focus on You during this Christmas Season, that we have the strength to control our thoughts when the negativity seeps in so we find our way to You always!
Have a focused day.
