Diana and I once participated in a seminar that was really special. There was a part of this seminar that I had a particular thought (hang with me, it won’t be too weird). There is a section of the program where we gather as a group to support each individual, kind of a group hug and a prayer. The person is in the middle, and everyone places a hand on them while a song, individually picked for them, is playing in the background. Well, the group is too large for everyone to be able to touch the individual, so those in the second circle touch the person in front of them who is touching the person of focus.

I was working the lights, so when I joined the gathering, I was four circles back touching someone who was touching someone who was touching someone who was touching the person who was the focus of the prayer. Well, here comes my thought: what if we had 50 people in a room all focused on one individual, or how about 500 people in an auditorium, or how about 50,000 people on a football field, all touching the one in front of them for the focus of that one individual. Wow—imagine if you were the individual that the 50,000 were focused on, all in prayer for you during the length of that special song for you. That would be awesome!

You know you have that already! We are not in the football field or the auditorium, or even in the same room, but you have people praying for you—especially for you. Accept it. What is the song playing for you as they are all in prayer specifically for you?

Two can accomplish more than twice as much as one, for the results can be much better. If one falls, the other pulls him up; but if a man falls when he is alone, he’s in trouble. Also, on a cold night, two under the same blanket gain warmth from each other, but how can one be warm alone? And one standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer; three is even better, for a triple braided cord is not easily broken.

Today, we come to prayer for you, each of you.

Lord, accept our prayers for our friend today; they really need strength and courage and hope for the trials in their life. But Father, You already know that. Allow our friend to realize that You already have them covered and to surrender their trials to You. We are strong when we stand together, and Lord we are standing for our friend today.
